Improving data quality and information utilization at Metema Primary Hospital, Amhara national regional state, Northwest Ethiopia 2018: Capstone project

Quality data for evidence-based decision making become a growing concern globally. Available information needs to be disseminated on time and used making. Therefore, an effective Health Management Information System is essential make decision. This study aimed measure the change in quality utilization before after intervention. Facility-based pre-post interventional design was conducted at Metema hospital from September/2016 December30/2018. A total of 384 individual medical-records, HMIS registration-books reports were reviewed. Training, supportive supervision feedback intervention packages. About 309 (80.5%) charts outpatient department. Data recording completeness increased 69.0% 96.0%, consistency 84.0% 99.5% report timeliness enhanced 66.0% 100%. There statistically significant difference between pre post-intervention results with mean −0.246 (−0.412, −0.081). Also, intervention, gap-filling given all departments. In addition, four improvement projects developed phase. The level use improved So, designing implementing strategies based root causes will help improve use.
